WELCOME PARENTS! I cannot say enough how excited I am that you are here and checking out what’s going on in the life of your teenager. We want this blog to be a place where we can learn, grow, cry, love, and encourage one anther as we all seek to teach every high school student how to think, live, and love like Jesus.
I desperately want our students to have a love for Jesus that is unquenchable. May they have a revolution in the way they see Him so He becomes central to them and not an optional aspect of their lives. You as parents are a priceless influence on your child. In the book Sticky Faith Dr. Kara Powell and Dr. Chap Clark wrote “Parental support, while important, is not the only way you influence your child. More than even your support, it’s WHO YOU ARE that shapes your kid… How you express and live out YOUR FAITH may have a greater impact on your son or daughter than anything else.” ~~~ Mirror, Mirror on the Wall ~~~ Your influence has a greater impact than your child really shows you, especially when it comes to faith in Jesus.
I have had to take a look in the mirror to examine what I am reflecting. If I want the high school students here to have an unquenchable thirst for their Savior, am I reflecting a genuine thirst for Him? Are you as their parent reflecting and modeling for them what you are desiring to see in them? Let’s all examine ourselves in the mirror today and begin changing our reflection to be one that is undeniably pursuing living, thinking, and loving like Jesus.
